Book 1: Before I go to sleep by SJ Watson

The first book that I have read for the 30 books challenge is ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ by SJ Watson. I thought that this was an amazing book from start to end due to the mystery and the tension throughout. My mum watched the movie not too long ago and was telling me about how good it was, and when I found out that it was based on a book, I knew I had to read it before watching it.

Memories define us.

So what id you lost yours every time you went to sleep?

Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love – all forgotten overnight.

And the one person you trust may only be telling you half of the story.

Welcome to Christine’s life.

My Thoughts

So as I said before, ‘Before I go to sleep’ is a fantastic novel from beginning to end. It won crime thriller of the year, and I completely understand why it won! As I was reading the end of it this afternoon, I thought I knew who committed the crime, who was the criminal, but in the last ten to twenty pages, there was a huge plot twist! When I finished the book, I hadn’t realised that I was holding a huge breath, it was that exciting and full of tension. If anyone loves reading and loves a good book with a surprising plot twist, then this is the book for you as you will be hooked like I was from start to finish.

Do I recommend this book?

Yes, I do, I would give it a promising 9/10 stars.

  1. Hello, I just bought this book second hand from my local library. I have already seen the film and I hope the book is just as fab! Weird, normally people read the book first and I wish I had seen it before I watched the film. It looks a thrilling read though from your review.

    1. Yeah it is one of my favorite books! I would that if you watched the movie you may find the book to be even better because to me the movie was a bit of a let down in comparison with the book. Hope you enjoy and thank you for the comment 🙂
